My personal story?

Just a short, year and a half ago, this was me …

2011 – After weeks of never ending diarrhea (thank goodness for spell check … I guess I don’t use that word very much, and didn’t know how to spell it) I found myself in the hospital for 3 days while they ran tests and treated me for dehydration. As, the nurse was hooking up the 3rd bag of saline, I remember looking up and asking, “Where is all this fluid going? I don’t even have to go to the bathroom”. I was kindly told, my body was acting like a sponge and was soaking it all up. Diagnosis? It wasn’t  Celiac Disease  or Crohns Disease, but it wasMicroscopic Colitis. I was put on a steroid short term. My body decided during this time to enter Menopause. Mood swings (mostly crying) had me sitting in my doctor’s office wondering if I was going crazy. No, I just had something called “Hormones” or lack thereof. Being on a mood regulator has two effects on appetite 1. Less hungry 2. More hungry. I became a #2. Blogging started when I wanted to share my playhouse for Miss Precious. Blogging takes up a few hours every day (That is a whole other post), and between sitting to write, work, family, and fun … the pounds have crept up.

I now have …

wait for it …

40 (yes, you heard right!) 40 extra lbs to get rid of.

(I am the one in blue glasses hiding in the middle)

I have to adopt a workable exercise, eating, and blogging strategy. I am using “Fitter” fitness calculator app and “Lose It” app on my phone to keep track no matter where I am. I also have a treadmill and weights that I will be using.

My main hurdles?

Drinking coke,

finding a time to exercise consistently,

drinking water,

and those “no thought moments” when it makes it into your mouth and then you think “Ah man”!

And let us not forget …. planning ahead, so that you have you on hand what you need when you need it!

Anyone who is interested in also getting healthy is invited to join our group the “Blog Bulge Babes”.

Please feel free to display the link party button on your blog if you are joining us and spread the word that we are getting our bloggy shapes back!

Once a week, Wednesdays, I will post my weight loss journal if you are interested in following along. As I get braver … I will post more pictures of where I am beginning.

I need help! Please link up  your fabulous tips, recipes, stories, or any fitness related topic.

The most helpful to me will be posted to Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Ready? Set? GO!!!!

BJ, thank you for sharing your story. So happy to be your new “blog babe” friend and look forward to each of us encouraging along the way. I too am trying to shake the soda habit, along with many other unhealthy choices and definitely need this group to hold me accountable. Good luck!

I linked up a chili that my family loves. It’s filling and low in calories–a great recipe for diabetics. I wish you great success in your journey, BJ! I will continue to pop in and check on your status. 🙂

Happy to be joining you on this journey ;). I too need to fix those moments when I find the food in my mouth before I’ve even had time to think about what I’m eating. Especially with so many kids around. I always find myself passing out cheese crackers and popping a few into my mouth too…just because they’re available. Oh, Bj, this will be so good!

Way to go, BJ. How exciting to try another challenge.
You are already beautiful, but now you will be more healthy, too.

Here’s the hug you asked for.
    Love ya,

5 pounds in a week off if you drop the Coke…you’ll miss the caffeine if you don’t find a substitute (green tea is better for you and the caffeine fix is awesome). I want to try your recipes, good luck and keep some exercise tips coming!

Camille, The hop will be open for 3 months for those who are interested in adding ideas and tips to it. I will be looking forward to seeing what everyone leaves as inspiration! Come back often to get ideas. My condition still raises its ugly head but it is being managed thank goodness.

Lori, Thank you for your support. For me, this is so private and to put it out there on the internet is such a scary thing. Day 1 was successful 🙂

It was a rough day yesterday for me! I stayed strong but I think my two pound weight loss was because of stress and my issue raising it’s ugly head. Mentally, I am taking it 🙂 I am so glad that we are a group as I need the support!

At least if we are going public with our personal struggles it is nice to do it with others who support us! I will be hopping over to read your post this weekend. I am working today and writing this while Mr Man drives me to work. 🙂 Hugs and have a successful day.

You know how private I am about such issues so this is really taking me out of my comfort zone. But, it is a great accountability group! I am working with a Family Naturopathic Dr who is helping me with the medical side. Thank you for such kind words and your support. The hug was great too!!!

I have been getting bad headaches since stopping the Cola habit. (Well, 2 days so far) I will have to try the green tea and see if that won’t help!
