“Where have you been?!”

Actually, I know you have been here this whole time … but me?

I took an unexpected 2 week trip to San Francisco, CA. It started with a phone call in the middle of my work day and my heart dropped with the news … My father was being taken to the hospital in an ambulance and he was having trouble breathing. I instantly called Mr Man to book me a one way ticket into San Francisco as they were air lifting my dad to California Pacific Medical Center. It turns out he had had a stroke. He was on life support but the doctors all seemed to think that he would improve. He had a trach placed and was being fed through a peg tube directly into his stomach. I stayed there and before returning home I made sure that mom was back home and that dad would be transferred closer to her when he could travel.

I was home for a short time when I got the call that not only was my mom in the hospital with symptoms of a heart attack but my fathers trach was failing. I flew out to California again and stayed with my dad around the clock. I was with him when he passed into heaven on September 25, 2012. It was the hardest thing that I have ever had to see but I am so blessed to have been the one there, holding his hand. This past week after the funeral, I stayed to help mom get things in order and to see the cardiologist. She was given a stress test and passed it, although the cardiologist is keeping an eye on her and I will be forever grateful that he is!

I say all this … to let you know why I have not been blogging and to ask your patience as I try to find my way back into blogging. I am going to try to get back into the routine of things as my heart heals from my loss.

He will forever be in my heart.

This sweet little girl was Dad’s 11th grandchild, born September 28th, (just 3 days after) in a car on the way to the hospital. He would have loved that story!

Hugs and Blessings,

Thank you Debbie. It is strange being home again after being gone for 5 weeks. Fall is here and Winter is just around the corner! I worked outside all day getting up leaves and bringing things in before the snow falls 🙂 Hugs, Missed all you too!!!! Bj

Dear BJ; so very sorry to hear that your Dad passed away, and I can imagine how he would look down and delight in the new babe born on the way to the hospital. A blessing that you could be with your Dad and then be there to look after your Mom too. Take care of you too.

I share your sorrow as I lost my mom in August. Enjoyed seeing the pictures of you and your dad. One life returns to his Creator and one life is sent from Heaven. Don’t rush back. Take time to remember.

BJ, I am truly sorry for your loss! I have missed your updates and now I know why. 🙁 Losing someone you love is so hard. I’m glad you were able to be with your dad (and your mom) over the last few weeks. My husband and I went through this last year with both of our moms, so I kind of know how you feel. Take care and know that we’re thinking of you and praying for your family now.
