Organizing my Storage area!
Right now, as I am writing this, I am feeling queazy in the pit of my stomach. Why? Because I am about to make a confession … you know the “if I tell them, they won’t like me” kind.
I already confessed that I am a “Messie” by birth. I WORK at being organized and I mean WORK at it. What you don’t know is that I chase rabbits. The reason that it can take me
twice three times as long to do the same project …is that I am distracted by doing other things.
Case in point … the dreaded storage area! Da da da DA!!!
I have a huge storage area that runs the length of my home. (One of the reasons that I was able to make a “Under the Stairs Playhouse”
and not miss the storage area that it afforded) I needed to get it organized so I could store more things from another area. (More info on that idea later!) I knew that I needed help to keep me focused so I called in the troops … A.K.A “My amazing daughter”. She obviously did not inherit my flaw and for that, I am eternally grateful!
Oh gosh … this is where the “Before” picture is to be posted.
(LOL, I kid you not … I just went and started the dishwasher, went downstairs and turned off the back yard light, came back upstairs and turned off the kitchen light, and fed the fish before sitting back down here. I think there is an avoidance issue here!) Let’s just do this thing!!!
Ok, here are the “Before” pics …
So, while my “amazing daughter” was being the take charge person, I was making the decisions about what would stay, give away, sell, and trash. That was the easy part. Remember, my problem is staying focused!
Here is what my thought process looks like …
“oh man, I need to check if there is salt in the water softener. I can’t remember the last time I checked it”
“yup, just as I figured, needs salt” (got a bag of salt and added)
“do you want something to drink?” (ran upstairs to get it)
“oooh, look at what you made me in grade school! Do you remember making that for me?” (I think that is where she
ripped took it out of my hands and said “Focus Mom”.)
You see what I am saying?! I really don’t like that about myself either. But something I love about me?!!!!
My “AD” stacked the games on a shelf and as you can see in the pic, the shelf was a bit overburdened.
I grabbed my super hero cape and trusty cordless drill and added support for it. Now she was impressed. LOL Seriously? That little thing?
The “After” pics …
Thank you “Amazing daughter” for keeping me on task!!! She is the BEST!
Happy Weekend to you all 🙂
I am linking too ….
